Teaching Philosophy
My job is to guide students on their path to learning music, to motivate them, and to continually stretch each student just beyond their current abilities, which leads to continual improvement.
Teaching Style
My teaching combines a deep emotional understanding of music with straightforward explanations of technique. I isolate and repair individual technical problems with an expert ear, always mindful of how they fit into the larger goal: to produce musicians that play with conviction, command and joy. I do this all with humor, patience, and a sensitivity to individual learning styles.
