My daughter started with Travis when she was still 5 and took lessons for almost 2 years. She loved it. She always looked forward to her violin lesson and she really learned her instrument. Right from the beginning, Travis made sure she had the correct technique and helped her make a good sound. We only stopped with Travis because we had to move out of state. Her new teacher stated that she is "amazed with how much she has already learned." Thanks, Travis!

Travis is a first class teacher. His relaxed manner immediately set me at ease. He was quick to recognize certain abilities I already possess and incorporate those abilities into the lesson. I had reached an impasse with another teacher and was becoming very frustrated, but then I found Travis. He gave me drills that moved me past the sticking point and I am very pleased with my progress. Travis has all of the qualities of an excellent teacher: great communication skills, the ability to assign exercises that address each component of playing, and he is very encouraging. I've been fortunate enough to have studied with Travis for several years now. Not only does he have a wonderful and deep understanding of the viola and all its technicalities, but he is patient, understanding, and has a great sense of humor. In addition, he has a thorough knowledge and experience of the audition and application process to major festivals/conservatories/orchestras - under his tutelage, I was accepted and was able to attend Bowdoin International Music Festival.
